AirAsia Processing Fees Introduced for Online Payments
The processing fee is imposed by AirAsia for online transactions using credit, debit and charge cards and via direct debit. In line with our continuous efforts to provide a comfortable and safe booking environment for all our guests, our online payment system is safeguarded by high security features and requires substantial investment to keep it safe.
The processing fee is therefore introduced to subsidize the process of upgrading, enhancing and improving security features for online credit, debit and charge card and direct debit payments.
The fee for payments through credit, debit and charge cards is RM8 per guest, per way and was implemented in November 2009. As for direct debit transactions, the processing fee is RM4 per booking and effective since 7 August 2013. Contrary to the claim by PPIM, AirAsia did not receive any queries regarding the processing fee from the organization and did not provide the recent fuel hike as the cause for the processing fee’s implementation.
